Cardinals' Fitzgerald has MCL sprain, expects to play season opener

08/16/2010 - Glendale, AZ (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald underwent an MRI Sunday that revealed an MCL sprain, likely leaving him off the field for the remainder of the preseason.

Fitzgerald was injured during Saturday's preseason opener against Houston. A story on the team's website says the Cardinals will handle the injury conservatively so he can be ready for the season opener against St. Louis on September 12.

The four-time Pro Bowl selection is coming off a year in which he recorded 1,092 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.
